After losing to the previously winless Kansas City Chiefs 14-6 on Sunday, the Washington Redskins have stripped head coach Jim Zorn of his play-calling duties.
Redskins chief Vinny Cerrato made the change Sunday afternoon.
According to a Redskins spokesman and the AP, Cerrato told Zorn he believes the coach had too many responsibilities and someone else should run the offense during games.
After losing to their fourth winless team of the season, Zorn couldn't disagree. The Redskins haven't scored more than seventeen points in a game, and that's playing against doormats like the Rams, Chiefs, Bucs, and Lions. They've still got games to go against the Falcons, Giants, Broncos, and Saints ahead.
The Redskins have been a mess this season. Zorn benched alleged quarterback Jason Campbell at halftime, going with Todd Collins, a guy who hasn't played since 2007 and most people don't even remember is still in the league.
I guess the Redskins finally realized that Zorn's playcalling was heavily influenced by "Tecmo Bowl," and other teams had figured out which of their four plays he was going to run.
