For all the talk of no team wanting to sign DeSean Jackson, his free agency didn’t last very long. In fact, the former Eagles’ wide receiver decided to change one NFC East color, for another NFC East color without heading west to visit other NFL organizations.
According to CBS Sports, Jackson had dinner with the Redskins general manager Bruce Allen, on Monday. The rest of his recruiting trip was spent hanging with DeAngelo Hall and Pierre Garcon. By Tuesday night, DeSean Jackson was convinced that Washington is the place for him.
If you’re a competitor, it’s refreshing to know that your former rival wants you. Now DeSean Jackson gets to stay in the same division and play the Philadelphia Eagles twice a year.
With the move, there will be a lot of pressure on Jackson to produce for the Redskins. At 27 years old, DeSean Jackson is in the prime of his career, and he must make Philadelphia regret their decision.
Last year, Jackson caught 82 passes for 1332 yards and nine touchdowns. Sportsline.com notes that those numbers are all career highs.
