Washington launches 2nd ANNUAL DC ENTREPRENEURShip WEEK
DCEW Speakers Include Mayor Vincent Gray, Ted Leonsis, Carl Schramm and a Special Performance by Musical Talent Cobra Starship
Washington, D.C. is about to get a taste of its second annual D.C. Entrepreneurship Week (DCEW); a five- day interactive symposium that focuses on revitalizing and strengthening local entrepreneurship with the D.C. Government’s Planning & Economic Development Office occurring in conjunction with Global Entrepreneurship Week. Designed for entrepreneurs by entrepreneurs, DCEW was created by young local leadership; a region that boasts the 5th highest concentration of entrepreneurs in the United States.
Highlighting the week is a special performance by Live Performance and DJ Set from Cobra Starship at the DCEW Premier Evening Event on November 17.
Cobra Starship is a pop, punk, electro band, originally created by Midtown bassist/lead vocalist Gabe Saporta as a side project. They are perhaps best known for their song "Bring It (Snakes on a Plane)," which was included on the soundtrack of the action film Snakes on a Plane, as well as their hit single "Good Girls Go Bad" which featured Gossip Girl star Leighton Meester and peaked at 7 of the Billboard 100.
DCEW will focus on various areas of industry and demographic groups such as Digital & Mobile Media, IT, Real Estate, Communications, Social Entrepreneurship, and Green & Clean Tech Startups’, just to name a few. Female entrepreneurs will find unique value through a wealth of content directly designed for ‘Women in Business’ as well as 5 special evening receptions and nightlife events around the city that include live music from the popular group Cobra Starship.
