Washington Huskies bubble watch: Dawgs score big wins over Oregon schools

The Huskies took care of business last week, picking up a pair of home victories over the Oregon schools and elevating their RPI rating in the process.

Thursday’s victory over the Ducks (39 RPI) was the Huskies third top 50 RPI win of the season and improves the Dawgs record against top 50 competition to 3-4.

As the Pac-12 season nears the midpoint, the Huskies have put themselves in a great position to finish in the top of the Pac-12 conference. With a very winnable game at Washington State, the Huskies are on the verge of finishing the first half of conference play with a 6-3 mark.

The schedule also turns favorable for Washington after the road game at WSU, with five of the remaining nine conference games at the friendly confines of Alaska Airlines Arena.

Unlike previous seasons when the Pac-12 really struggled and few conference teams had high RPIs, the Huskies still have several RPI-potential boosting games on their schedule in the second half of Pac-12 play. Five of the Huskies nine second half opponents boast RPIs in the top 51.
