The Washington Ensemble Theatre (WET) kicked off their seventh season this past October with the world premiere of Sextet, a play that featured three love triangles set simultaneously in Austria, Italy, and Russia.
WET shows no signs of slowing down in 2011 as they premiere Babs the Dodo - a new work by Michael Mitnick -this Friday, February 4th.
This past summer in Seattle WET teamed up with three promising playwrights from Yale's masters program. Together (along with other local theater groups New Century Company and The Satori Company) the playwrights and ensemble groups worked on the writers' words and vision of their new plays during a weekend that was billed as the One Coast Play Workshop.
With Babs and Dodo, you'll be able to see the results of the Yale collaboration as WET will bring the full scale world premiere production of Mitnick's dark comedy to its stage in Seattle. Babs The Dodo will also mark the directorial debut of WET's senior member Elise Hunt. .
Babs the Dodo opens Friday, February 4 and runs through March 14th.
