A hot and humid Memorial Day was experienced in Baltimore and Washington due to high pressure settling to our east and a southerly flow of warm, humid air moving in from the south. High pressure will continue to produce a clockwise flow of air into the area on Tuesday with clouds and sun. Afternoon temperatures will climb into the 80s after morning lows in the mid 60s. Meanwhile, a cold front will move from west to east across central Maryland by Tuesday evening. As the cooler, drier air from the west clashes with the warm, humid air in place we can expect scattered showers and thunderstorms to develop from Tuesday afternoon into Tuesday evening. More showers and storms will develop during the day on Wednesday, persisting into early Thursday morning. As we move into the latter half of the week, high pressure will build over the Middle Atlantic states and provide sunny, pleasant weather from Thursday afternoon through Saturday with lows in the 50s and highs in the 70s.
