Clouds and sun on Wednesday with a low in the upper 60s and a high in the mid to upper 80s. Clouds and sun on Thursday with a thunderstorm possible. The low will be in the upper 60s and the high will be in the upper 80s. Clouds and sun on Friday with a thunderstorm possible. The low will be in the upper 60s and the high will be in the mid 80s.
The official start to the summer season felt more like spring or fall than summer in Baltimore and Washington with a cloudy sky and afternoon temperatures only in the upper 60s to around 70 degrees. These temperatures represent typical lows for this time of year. The cloudiness and cool weather was the result of a stalled frontal system to our south where temperatures and humidity were significantly higher across central and southern Virginia today. The front will continue to progress to the south on Sunday. This will enable high pressure to build over central Maryland and the Eastern Shore. The result will be plenty of sunshine and warmer temperatures with highs rebounding into the lower 80s. The high will move offshore early next week allowing for warmer and more humid air to return to the area.
