Brian's exclusive forecast for Washington DC:
Today: More sun than clouds; an isolated shower is possible. Becoming windy this afternoon with some gusts over 30 miles per hour. Warm with a high in the mid to upper 70s.
Tonight: Breezy and turning cooler with a low in the lower 50s except upper 40s in the suburbs of Washington.
Monday: Clouds and sun with scattered rain showers. The high will be around 70.
Monday Night: A few rain showers, then mostly cloudy. Cool with a low in the upper 40s.
Tuesday: Mostly sunny and pleasant with a high around 70.
The extended forecast calls for sunshine on Wednesday with a low in the upper 40s and a high in the upper 60s. Clouds and sun on Thursday with a shower possible. The low will be around 50 and the high will be near 70. Mostly sunny and warmer on Friday with a low in the lower 60s and a high in the lower 80s. Clouds and sun with a thundershower possible on Saturday. The low will be in the mid 60s and the high will be in the lower 80s.
Temperatures at the noon hour range from around 70 degrees to the lower 70s. A southerly flow of air in advance of a cold front will result in a seasonably warm afternoon with highs reaching the mid to upper 70s. As the front moves from west to east across the area this afternoon, there may be a few clouds and scattered showers; however, any rain that falls will be short-lived. During the evening and overnight hours, a fresh northwest breeze will overspread the region with temperatures falling into the mid and upper 40s by Monday morning. High pressure builds over the northern Mid-Atlantic states on Monday and Tuesday, but a weak area of low pressure to our south and east may bring a few clouds and a shower to the area. Therefore, we can expect a good deal of sunshine on Monday and Tuesday, but there is a slight chance of a shower over southern Maryland, the lower Eastern Shore, and southeast Virginia. Highs each day will be in the lower 70s. Later in the week, the first real "summer-like" weather pattern will develop with high pressure building from the southwest. Temperatures will respond accordingly with highs reaching the lower 80s on Friday and Saturday.
