Weather Summary

A round of showers and thunderstorms occurred yesterday and overnight as a "back door" cold front moved through the region. Today, low clouds and scattered rain showers are persistent as the front stalls to our south and an easterly fetch of wind comes off the Atlantic Ocean. The easterly flow is the result of a clockwise flow of air around high pressure to our northeast. Eventually, this high will begin to dominate the weather in our region with plenty of sunshine and pleasant temperatures on Friday. Another area of high pressure in the Great Lakes region will move into the Middle Atlantic states and provide Baltimore and Washington with sunshine over the weekend along with mild temperatures. Lows each day will drop into the 50s and highs will reach the upper 70s to lower 80s. More humid weather conditions will return to the area as we move into next week.
