Weather Summary

A cold front is settled just to our northeast this morning. As the front begins to move southwest through the region this afternoon, more showers and thunderstorms will develop. Until the front passes through the region, conditions will be warm and humid again today with highs in the lower to middle 80s. The clash of the cold front with this warmth and humidity will be the spark for the thunderstorms. Showers and storms will continue into the evening hours. Most of the storms will not be severe; however, a few isolated storms may produce heavy rain, localized flooding, strong winds, and dangerous lightning. As the front continues to move south on Thursday, residual cloudiness and moisture will linger into Thursday afternoon. Thereafter, cooler and drier air from New England will overspread the Middle Atlantic states on Friday through Sunday with lows in the 50s and highs in the 70s.
