A warm front is lifting through the region this morning and will enable a warm and humid airmass to overspread the area through the afternoon. Consequently, highs today will reach the lower 80s. Meanwhile, a cold front will sweep across the Middle Atlantic states later this afternoon and evening, sparking a few thundershowers in the process. A few showers may linger into the evening hours followed by a mostly cloudy sky overnight with lows dropping into the lower 60s. As the front progresses to our east on Friday, drier air will move in from the northwest. Although there may be a scattered rain shower on Friday, the day will feature increasing sunshine during the afternoon. It will be breezy at times with highs in the mid to upper 70s. Cooler air moves in Friday night with lows dipping into the lower and middle 50s. Pleasant spring weather is expected to continue through the Memorial Day weekend.
