Another spectacular May afternoon in Baltimore and Washington with plenty of sunshine and temperatures in the lower 70s. The morning started off with some very cool readings as the mercury dipped into the mid and upper 40s in the suburbs and lower to middle 50s in downtown areas. High pressure building over the region is responsible for today's beautiful weather. Tuesday will continue the trend of sunny days, but clouds will begin to overspread the region by tomorrow afternoon as a warm front approaches from the southwest. This warm front will produce widespread showers and thundershowers on Tuesday night through Wednesday. A cold front will follow by early Thursday morning with a few additional showers; however, sunshine is expected to return to the Middle Atlantic states by Thursday afternoon. The period Friday through Sunday will feature sunshine and pleasant temperatures with lows in the 50s and highs in the 70s.
