Weather Summary

Today feels more like the middle of summer than the middle of May with hot and humid conditions in Baltimore and Washington. Afternoon temperatures are in the mid to upper 80s across the region. The heat will be short-lived, however, as a backdoor cold front moves in a southwesterly direction during the overnight hours. Consequently, temperatures will fall overnight into the upper 50s to lower 60s along with clouds and areas of fog. An isolated shower is possible. As this front begins to lift back up to our north on Wednesday, and another cold front sweeps across the area later in the day, considerable cloudiness and showers can be expected on Wednesday along with cooler temperatures. This front may linger around the area on Thursday and Friday with additional showers and thundershowers. Looking ahead to this weekend, cool high pressure will become established over the Middle Atlantic region with abundant sunshine. Highs on Saturday will be in the lower 70s and highs on Sunday will be in the upper 60s to lower 70s. Lows by Sunday morning may drop into the upper 40s in outlying areas and lower 50s elsewhere.
