Tonight: Mostly clear, but not as cold with a low in the mid to upper 30s. Light south winds.
Friday: Increasing clouds with a good chance of showers. The high will be in the upper 50s.
Friday Night: Showers with a low around 45.

The extended forecast calls for clouds and sun on Sunday with a low in the lower 40s and a high in the lower 60s. Sunny on Tuesday with a low in the upper 30s and a high in the upper 50s. Sunny on Wednesday with a low in the upper 30s and a high in the upper 50s.
Morning temperatures dropped into the upper 10s to mid 20s under cold high pressure and light winds. Baltimore (BWI) tied the record low for this date of 20 degrees, and Dulles Airport VA unofficially broke the record low of 17 degrees by dropping to 16 this morning. As we move through the late morning and afternoon hours, temperatures will rebound into the 30s and 40s with highs this afternoon reaching the mid to upper 40s. Although still ten degrees colder than average for this time of year, the 40-degree readings will feel warm compared to yesterday's strong winds and near-freezing temperatures. The southerly flow will hold temperatures above freezing during the overnight hours. Meanwhile, a cold front will approach the area from the west on Friday. This will result in cloudiness and widespread rain showers. Temperatures will be mild with highs in the 50s to near 60. A wave of low pressure will develop and move along the front on Saturday, producing heavier rain showers. By Sunday, the sky will begin to clear with highs in the 50s. The long-term outlook calls for several days of sunshine next week along with temperatures in the mid 50s to near 60, which is typical for the end of March.
