Brian's exclusive forecast for Washington DC:
Tonight: A few rain showers; areas of fog. The low will be around 40.
Thursday: Mostly sunny and breezy. Warmer with a high near 60.
Thursday Night: Mostly clear with a low around 40.
Friday: Mostly sunny with a high near 60.
The extended forecast calls for clouds and sun on Saturday with a slight chance of a rain shower. The low will be in the lower 40s and the high will be in the lower 60s. Breezy and colder with sunshine on Sunday. The low will be in the mid 30s and the high will be in the mid 40s. Mostly sunny and cold on Monday with a low in the upper 20s and the high will be in the lower 40s. A chance of rain and/or snow on Tuesday with a low in the upper 20s and a high in the upper 30s.
Temperatures at 9 p.m. are generally in the lower 40s around the region with light showers and areas of fog. Just about all of the snow from Monday's storm has melted except where shoveled into large piles. Rainfall overnight will be on the light side, although there could be a few heavier showers from time to time. The rain will be enhanced by a cold front that will move from west to east across the bay. Scattered rain showers will continue into the morning hours, but clearing is expected during the morning hours as the front progresses to the east. The air behind the front will be on a west wind, so highs on Thursday and Friday will surge well into the 50s to near 60 degrees. By Saturday, readings in the low to mid 60s is not out of the question, but a few showers may accompany the mild air. The warm-up will be brief, as another wave of arctic air will be poised to move toward the northeast and Middle Atlantic states by Sunday and Monday with highs only in the 40s. Overnight lows will be in the 20s to lower 30s. A storm system may impact the Middle Atlantic region by Tuesday with a chance of rain and/or snow.
