Weather Summary

After several days of sunshine and comfortable humidity, today will be warmer and more humid as a southerly flow overspreads the area in advance of the next cold front that will drop down from upstate New York. Widespread showers and thunderstorms will develop this afternoon and evening as the front clashes with the warm, humid air over central Maryland. In the wake of the front, we can expect sunshine on Thursday with a light northerly breeze. As we move toward the weekend, high pressure from the south will build over the Middle Atlantic states, pushing the New England high out to sea. This will enable the heat and humidity to increase, along with a chance of showers and thunderstorms each day.
