The extended forecast calls for clouds and sun on Wednesday with an afternoon thunderstorm possible. The low will be in the upper 60s and the high will be in the upper 80s. Clouds and sun on Thursday with an afternoon thunderstorm possible. The low will be in the upper 60s and the high will be in the upper 80s. Clouds and sun on Friday with an afternoon thunderstorm possible. The low will be in the upper 60s and the high will be in the upper 80s.
A cold front moved from west to east across the area on Friday afternoon with another round of showers and thunderstorms. Flash flood watches were posted due to the saturated ground caused by recent heavy rains. Warm and humid air moving north ahead of the approaching cold front enabled temperatures to reach the lower to middle 80s on Friday, but now that the front has moved to our east we will be under the influence of high pressure. Cooler and drier air is overspreading the Middle Atlantic states from the northwest with refreshing breezes and mild temperatures. Highs today will only reach the upper 70s with comfortable humidity. Thermometer readings may fall back into the upper 50s at some locations by Sunday morning, with low 60s along the bay shore and in towns and cities. Sunday will be a tad warmer, but still pleasant by June standards with sunshine and highs in the lower to mid 80s.
