Weather Summary

A stalled frontal boundary to our south and west provided enough instability in the atmosphere to produce widespread showers and thunderstorms again today. Some areas received heavy rainfall and experienced localized flooding. As a result, flood watches and warnings were posted for some areas. A tornado watch on Wednesday night was warranted, but no severe weather was reported in central Maryland. A warm front will move from south to north across the Middle Atlantic region overnight. This will keep the region under a mostly cloudy sky with occasional showers and thunderstorms. Meanwhile, A cold front will move from west to east across the area on Friday with another round of showers and thunderstorms expected. Warm and humid air moving north ahead of the approaching cold front will enable temperatures to reach the lower to middle 80s on Friday. In the wake of the cold front, sunny and less humid weather will return for the weekend along with sunshine and warm temperatures for Saturday and Sunday. Lows each day will be in the lower to middle 60s and highs will be in the upper 70s to lower 80s on Saturday and lower 80s on Sunday.
