Brian's exclusive forecast for Washington DC:
This afternoon: Very warm and humid, but not as hot as yesterday with a high in the mid to upper 80s. There is a chance of an afternoon thunderstorm.
Tonight: Warm and humid with an evening thunderstorm possible. The low will be in the lower 70s.
Thursday: Clouds and sun with scattered thundershowers. The high will be in the mid 80s.
The extended forecast calls for sunshine on Friday with lows in the mid 60s and highs in the mi 80s. More humid on Saturday with clouds and sun, and a slight chance of a thundershower. The low will be in the upper 60s and the high will be in the upper 80s. Hazy, humid, and very warm on Sunday with scattered thunderstorms. The low will be in the lower 70s and the high will be in the upper 80s.
A line of powerful thunderstorms extending from south-central Pennsylvania into northern Virginia pummeled the Baltimore and Washington areas last evening with strong winds and heavy rain. Today's weather will be slightly cooler than yesterday with highs in the upper 80s instead of the mid 90s. However, it will remain humid and with a cold front approaching from the Great Lakes region there will be enough instability to allow for scattered thunderstorms this afternoon and evening. Thursday's weather will be much the same as the front continues to push through the region. Friday will be sunny and less humid as a northerly breeze overspreads the area in the wake of the frontal passage. However, the front is expected to lift back northward as a warm front on Saturday and ushering in more humid conditions for the weekend with highs in the upper 80s on Saturday and Sunday. There is a slight chance of a thunderstorm over the weekend as well.
