Brian's exclusive forecast for Washington DC:
This afternoon: Hazy, hot, and humid with a chance of an afternoon thunderstorm. The high will be 90 to 95.
Tonight: Warm and muggy with a low around 70.
Wednesday: Hazy and humid with a chance of thunderstorms. The high will be 85 to 90.
The extended forecast calls for hazy and humid conditions on Thursday with a chance of thunderstorms. The low will be in the upper 60s and the high will be in the mid to upper 80s. Mostly sunny on Friday and Saturday with lows in the mid to upper 60s and highs in the mid to upper 80s.
High pressure off the Atlantic coast will produce a southerly flow and will result in hot and humid conditions today. Highs may reach as high as 95 degrees both days along with uncomfortable levels of humidity. There is a slight chance of an afternoon thunderstorm, but most areas will remain hot and dry. A weak cold front will move from west to east across the bay area on Wednesday, knocking off a few degrees from the high temperature and producing isolated thunderstorms. Scattered storms may persist into Thursday as the frontal system becomes stalled just to our south and east. By Friday and Saturday, high pressure will push the front out to sea and sunshine will return along with slightly less humid conditions.
