Washington DC weather for July 30: another mild day followed by pleasant evening

Brian's exclusive forecast for Washington DC:

Tonight: Clear but not as cool with a low in the lower 60s.

Thursday: Mostly sunny and warm with a high in the middle 80s.

Thursday Night: Variable cloudiness with a chance of showers. The low will be in the middle 60s.

Friday: Increasing clouds with occasional showers and thunder during the afternoon and evening. The high will be around 80.

The extended forecast calls for mostly cloudy conditions on Saturday, Sunday, and Monday with a chance of showers and thunderstorms each day. Lows will be in the mid 60s and highs will be in the lower 80s.

Weather Summary

The day began with unseasonably cool temperatures as readings dropped into the 50s at many locations around the area, except around 60 to the lower 60s in downtown areas and along the bay shore. Readings during the afternoon only reached the upper 70s under clouds and sun, and under the influence of low pressure in eastern Canada that continues to produce a mild flow of air over the Middle Atlantic states. Meanwhile, a more southerly flow of air will return on Thursday so it will feel more like summer with afternoon temperatures in the mid 80s. Looking ahead, an offshore front is expected to move westward into the area with considerable cloudiness. At the same time, weak waves of low pressure along the front may produce occasional showers and thundershowers through the weekend.
