Tonight: Warm and humid with scattered showers and thunderstorms. The low will be in the mid 70s.
Independence Day: Cloudy with morning showers, then becoming sunny later in the day. Less humid with a high in the mid 80s.
The extended forecast calls for sunshine on Saturday with lows in the low to mid 60s and highs in the low to mid 80s. Sunshine on Sunday with lows in the low to mid 60s and highs in the low to mid 80s. More humid on Monday with hazy sunshine and a chance of an afternoon thundershower. The low will be in the upper 60s and the high will be in the upper 80s.
A cold front will approach the area this afternoon and evening. This will result in more showers and thunderstorms developing during the afternoon and evening hours. Some storms may produce heavy rain, gusty winds, and dangerous lightning. At the same time, what is expected to become Hurricane Arthur will approach the Outer Banks of North Carolina; however, its impact will be nonexistent in Baltimore and Washington. Morning cloudiness and showers on Friday will give way to increasing sunshine and lower humidity by the afternoon and evening as the cold front moves to our southeast.
