Brian's exclusive forecast for Washington DC:

Today: Morning clouds & showers giving way to a mostly sunny sky. Less humid with a high from 80 to 85.

Tonight: Clear and comfortable with a low from the upper 50s to the mid 60s.

Thursday: Sunny and warm with tolerable humidity and a high in the mid 80s.

The extended forecast calls for warmer and more humid conditions on Thursday through Sunday. Each day will feature hazy sunshine and a chance of afternoon or evening thunderstorms. The lows will be in the upper 60s to lower 70s and the highs will be in the upper 80s.

Weather Summary

Widespread thunderstorms impacted the region yesterday afternoon and last evening with very heavy rainfall. The cold front that sparked the storms has moved to our south and east and will continue to pull away from the area. As a result, we can expect morning cloudiness to give way to increasing sunshine this afternoon as high pressure builds down from Canada. In addition to the return of a sunny sky, we can anticipate much lower humidity today and Thursday. However, the center of high pressure will move offshore on Friday through Sunday, causing a warmer and more humid air mass to overspread the area. Accompanying the increase in temperature and humidity will be the threat of afternoon and evening thunderstorms.
