Weather Summary

A very warm, humid flow of air continues over the Middle Atlantic states today. This set-up is a classic "Bermuda High" that will keep the area hot and humid with highs in the upper 80s to lower 90s and heat index values in the mid to upper 90s. Meanwhile, a strong cold front will approach Baltimore and Washington from the west toward evening. This will produce yet another round of widespread thunderstorms on Tuesday afternoon and evening as cooler, drier air behind the front clashes with warm, humid air in place over central Maryland. Some thunderstorms may be severe with very heavy rain and strong winds. Cooler and less humid air will overspread the Middle Atlantic states by the middle of the week with highs only in the upper 70s to lower 80s in Baltimore and Washington by Thursday.
