High pressure is influencing our weather today and providing plenty of sunshine along with mild temperatures for the first week of August. Readings this afternoon range from the upper 70s to lower 80s. Meanwhile, waves of low pressure will move along a stalled boundary to our south on Sunday and Monday. This will result in more cloudiness and a few rain showers, especially over southern Maryland and the lower Eastern Shore. A cold front will move through the region early next week, producing more showers and perhaps a thundershower on Tuesday into Wednesday. Mostly sunny conditions are expected by Thursday and Friday of next week.
