Brian's exclusive forecast for Washington DC:
This afternoon: Clouds and sun. Warm and humid with a chance of afternoon showers or thunderstorms. The high will be in the mid to upper 80s.
Tonight: Evening clouds and lingering showers, then clearing overnight with a low in the mid 60s.
Thursday: Sunshine except for some fair-weather cumulus clouds. Less humid. The high will be in the lower 80s.
Thursday Night: Clear and comfortable with a low from the upper 50s inland to the mid 60s near the water and in urban locations
Friday: Clouds and sun with a high in the lower 80s.
The extended outlook calls for clouds and sun on Saturday through Monday with overnight lows in the mid to upper 60s and daytime highs in the lower to middle 80s. There is a slight chance of a shower this weekend over southern Maryland and the lower Eastern Shore of Maryland.
A cold front will approach Baltimore and Washington from the west today. As cool, dry air behind the front clashes with warm, humid air in place over central Maryland we can expect the development of showers and thunderstorms. Some showers may persist into the evening hours. Overnight, lingering showers will give way to gradual clearing. High pressure builds over the region on Thursday, resulting in sunshine and lower humidity. Highs will reach the lower 80s. High pressure will continue to influence the Middle Atlantic states over the weekend, but low pressure to our south may bring some cloudiness to the region; however, precipitation will be minimal.
