Brian's exclusive forecast for Washington DC:
This afternoon: Cloudy with widespread showers and thunderstorms. Heavy rain is possible along with localized flooding. The high will be in the mid 70s.
Tonight: Showers and thundershowers. The low will be in the upper 60s.
Wednesday: Cloudy with a few morning showers, then gradual clearing and a high in the lower 80s.
Wednesday Night: Clear and comfortable with a low around 60.
Thursday: Sunny and pleasant with a high in the upper 70s.
A frontal passage to our west continues to move eastward this afternoon. The clash of the front with warm, humid air in place over the Middle Atlantic states is resulting in widespread showers and thunderstorms across Baltimore and Washington this afternoon. Flash flood watches and warnings have been posted for local flooding due to very heavy rain that has been falling for several hours during the late morning and early afternoon hours. Showers and embedded thunderstorms will continue through the afternoon and into the evening before tapering to light, scattered showers overnight. Wednesday may begin with considerable cloudiness, but the sky will begin to clear from west to east as the front pushes to our east. A mostly sunny sky is expected by afternoon with highs around 80. High pressure will build over the region on Thursday and Friday with plenty of bright sunshine and comfortable levels of humidity. Highs each day will be in the upper 70s to lower 80s with overnight lows in the upper 50s to lower 60s.
