Washington DC weather for August 10: mostly sunny and warm

Brian's exclusive forecast for Washington DC:

This afternoon: Mostly sunny with a high in the lower 80s.

Tonight: Mostly clear with a low in the upper 60s.

Monday: Clouds and sun with a thunderstorm possible in the afternoon. The high will be in the mid 80s.

Monday Night: Variable cloudiness with scattered thundershowers. The low will be around 70.

Tuesday: Mostly cloudy with widespread showers and thunderstorms. The high will be in the lower 80s.

The extended forecast calls for sunshine and lower humidity on Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday. Lows will be around 60 and highs will be in the upper 70s to lower 80s.

Weather Summary

High pressure over New England will provide the Middle Atlantic region with sunshine and warm, but seasonal, temperatures today. Meanwhile, a cold front will approach the area from the west on Monday and pass by to our southeast on Tuesday. The frontal passage will produce widespread showers and storms, especially on Tuesday. In the wake of the cold front, sunshine returns later next week with lower humidity and mild temperatures with highs only in the upper 70s to around 80 on Wednesday through Friday.
