Weather Summary

A frontal boundary will remain stationary to our south this afternoon and through this evening. This will keep a good amount of cloudiness around the region today, although a few peaks of sunshine are not out of the question. Occasional showers can be expected, although showers will be light and scattered for the most part. Low pressure will move toward the Great Lakes on Friday and Friday night. This low will bring a warm front northward across the Middle Atlantic states, resulting in widespread rain showers and mild temperatures tonight and Friday with lows overnight only dropping into the 40s and highs on Friday climbing through the 50s to near 60 degrees. This will be followed by a cold front on Friday night into Saturday that will move from west to east across the region and produce a period of rain before the wind shifts to the northwest and slightly cooler and drier air overspreads Maryland. Once the front clears the area, we can expect a mostly sunny day on Saturday with highs in the 50s. Despite the sunshine, it will be quite windy and times on Saturday due to high pressure building over the area and the departing low to the north. Winds may gust over 30 miles per hour at times. On Sunday, the winds will diminish and sunshine will be the main weather feature with highs once again in the 50s. Low pressure looks to bring more clouds and showers to the region by Monday.
