NOV 15, 2011: The Daydreamer Creative will be hosting a charity art showcase/auction, called “Avatar of a Dream”, for the benefit of Dreaming Out Loud (a DC-based community organization.)
NOV 16, 2011: BloomScreen ( a la BloomBars) presents: The Dhamma Brothers--The Dhamma Brothers (2007, 76 min), by Jenny Phillips, Anne Marie Stein and Andrew Kukur. A documentary on inmates at a maximum security prison who are studying Vipassana meditation. NOV 19, 2011: It's time for another edition of The Capital City Showcase, the variety show that brings you some of the best comedians, musicians, and performing artists in the DMV. Hosted by Christian Hunt, it has featured some of the DC area’s finest stand-up comics, improv comics, rock bands, jazz bands, acoustic guitarists, and hip-hop artists. And for the Ladies who prefer Ladies, go to BARE (by Lure DC)-- Hot Go-Go dancers, two amazing DJ's, three levels of dancing, lounge, and restaurant: One stop shop to meet the hottest women in DC!
NOV 20, 2011: Howard University MFA and select BFA candidates will exhibit works created during a 24 hour 'lock in' that will begin at 4pm Saturday, November 19th. Once doors are closed, no one is 'allowed' to enter or leave the space. No worries, Artists will be provided with food, and moral support. Artwork made during the 24 hour period will be in the official ‘Locked In’ open studio exhibition that will be open to the public at 4pm Sunday, November 20th.
