Washington D.C. - gun free zones and corruption

See also

CHEYENNE--Washington D.C. is one of the premier gun free zones in America. By contrast this is also the roost of our elected officials that take an oath to protect our rights enumerated in the Constitution.

What has this gun free zone accomplished for the District of Columbia?

High crime stats, corrupted lawmakers, and out of control police just to name a few. I say disarming citizens is one of the largest corruptions that Lawmakers, Judges and the Police have actively participated in.

Gun-free zones suggest that only officials in "Authority" should have firearms.

From D.C.'s headlines--

An account of the results of imbalanced power or what we will call the monopoly on power. The title- D.C. police officer charged with woman’s murder after she and baby are found dead.

In this news story a D.C. Police officer was apparently disgruntled that the mother of his lovechild was asking the courts to force him to help support their one year old.

Of course the story ends with the death of this single mother and the child, and so far the evidence leads to a man with a badge and a gun.

Some of you say -"That's in D.C., it can't happen in Wyoming"--

Wrong, just last year we had one of our own law enforcement scandals in which a Wyoming Highway Patrol officer plotted to kill his own wife and kidnapped a Wal-Mart driver whom he also planned to murder.

Rightly so, the victim truck driver Richard Smidt says about the ordeal- "He'll Never Trust Highway Patrol Again".

To make matters worse the kidnapper trooper Franklin Joseph Ryle was entangled in yet another scandal with fellow trooper Adam Longo and former trooper Devin Henderson in smuggling anabolic steroids and synthetic testosterone from Mexico dating back to 2004.

There are citizens that will serve sentences similar in length to the out of control trooper for merely possessing a firearm in a gun-free zone. Trooper Lyle only received 15 years for using his firearm while on duty kidnapping a truck driver.

Where is the outrage from the people that represent us in Washington?

Why don't they see the corruption of disarming citizens and holding the theory that only the police should be armed?

Why is it they are not using their beloved Patriot Act to put terrorist police officers in Guantanamo for life?

Most of all - why don't they abolish gun free zones?

In my last article- The Patriot Act and the slippery slope, I am critical of how the Constitution is constantly being diluted by the very people that take an oath to defend it.

I believe and I hope you do, that the "Bill of Rights" must be held intact and we must hold those sworn to defend it responsible for any and all misconduct in their failure to do so.

Remember every step taken to breech the constitution is only about one thing - a monopoly on power.

Anthony Bouchard is a staunch supporter of the Bill of Rights and limited government - he is also the Director of WyGO - Wyoming Gun Owners Association, Wyoming's Only No-Compromise Gun-Rights Organization.
