Captain Jack Sparrow wasn't on the WAFCA's nomination list, but the the cutlass and cannon franchise had its principal members taking a win for a production Western of any "Pirates of the Caribbean" or sequels of stranger tides.
The Washington D.C. Area Film Critic Association chose this year's Best Animated Feature in "Rango", the animation where Sparrow's Johnny Depp goes chameleon impersonating an Old West town's serendipitous arriving hero. Helmer of the successful Dreamwork Animation swashbuckler films Gore Verbinski took a director's turn on the animated movie brandishing an ensemble cast - Isla Fisher, Alfred Molina, Timothy Olyphant - as star replete as 2011s "Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides" featuring Penelope Cruz, Geoffrey Rush and Ian McShane..
"Rango" was awarded WAFCA's animation category being the nominee well-recieved by movie audiences while it didn't overcome peer nominees reception by accounts of feedback reviews or box office. "Puss in Boots" and "Winnie the Pooh" were the spinoff and tradition claiming high accolades during the year. "The Adventures of Tin Tin" and "Arther Christmas" are the expectant primaries to close 2011 out with stand out animation acclaim.
"Toy Story 3" won Best Animated Feature for 2010..
"Rango" is the 10th awards winner in the animation category for the WAFCA.
