Is there anything better than a friendly, furry face to greet the kids after school? Is the house too empty now that your son or daughter has gone off to college? Then maybe it’s time to adopt a cat, and this Saturday the Washington Animal Rescue League is hosting a special back-to-school adoption event to help pair some great cats (and dogs, too) with loving homes.
The event features reduced adoption fees, depending on the cat’s age and “grade level.” Kittens in grades K-5 (those up to 6 months old) will be $50. Cats old enough for the “middle school to post doc” group (6 months and older) will be $10. All adoptable cats will be spayed or neutered and will be current on vaccinations. Some cats may also offer free homework help, though this is not guaranteed.
A free lunch of peanut butter and jelly sandwiches and juice will be available for potential adopters. Adopted animals will go home with brown bag treats.
