After dropping the opening set, the third-seeded Washington Huskies fought back to beat LSU 3-1 on Saturday night at Alaska Airlines Arena.

The Tigers came out serving the Huskies tough, putting the Dawgs in tough positions that limited the attacking options for the Huskies in the opening set.

But Washington adjusted, changing return strategies to help turn the match around in the Dawgs 17-25, 25-18, 25-21, 25-19 win.

Once the Huskies figured out how to receive serve, Pac-12 Player of the Year Krista Vansant came to the rescue, powering in 24 kills on 54 attempts with just four errors for a sparkling .370 hitting percentage.

After a slow start, Kaleigh Nelson bounced back to record 12 kills and Cassie Strickland added seven kills and 13 digs for the Huskies.

The Huskies return to the Sweet 16 for a second straight season and the third time in the last four years. Washington will take on 14th-seeded Kansas on Friday.
