Rumors are circulating the Internet stating that Tiger Woods and his wife, Elin Nordegren were fighting over an alleged affair between Tiger and Rachel Uchitel just before he departed their home at 2:25 a.m. The rumors and innuendos have gone so far as to imply that Elin Nordegren chased down her husband’s vehicle and smashed at the car, and his face. Authorities have presented a different scenario, however. Stating that Elin Nordegren heard the crash then rushed to her husband's aid, freeing him from the vehicle by smashing at the back window with a golf club.
Interesting to note, however, is that the impact of the crash was not severe enough to cause the air bags to inflate. If the Tiger Woods car accident was a result of domestic abuse or domestic violence, charges are certain to be filed against the offender.
The New York Daily News has alleged that Rachel Uchitel and Tiger Woods were involved in an affair, stating their source is the National Enquirer. These reports have not been substantiated. The New York Daily News states that they contacted Rachel Uchitel about the affair which she denied. Both the National Enquirer and Star Magazine are reported to be breaking the story, however a search of their webiste yields no such stories. They may possibly break the story this week.
One site that has gone ahead with a report that both Tiger Woods and his wife, Elin Nordegren were fighting before the accident is TMZ. TMZ states that multiple police sources told them that the couple had been arguing. TMZ states that it was called a ‘domestic issue.’ In Florida, domestic abuse situations are taken very seriously and it is unlikely that police would leave the couple in the home without making an arrest. Unless, of course, Tiger Woods and his wife, Elin Nordegren are being given preferential treatment due to their celebrity status, which is very likely.
As for now, however, the affair is just a rumor cited by Internet websites claiming that TMZ, the National Enquirer, and Star Magazine have reported the affair. At the time of this writing, the story of an affair between Tiger Woods and Rachel Uchitel does not exist.

If there was an issue of domestic violence with a female suspect, the chances are slim-to-none that charges will ever be filed.
Florida is particularly anti-male when it comes to these kinds of cases; absent a specific complaint from the victim or a number of unimpeachable witnesses, it will be most likely glossed over and forgotten ASAP.
What was he doing and when did he do it? FP are the good guys.
