Recently the History Channel kicked off the 'Bible' miniseries. Last Sunday the character of Satan made his debut. Social media sites including Twitter went crazy when the actor portraying Satan had a striking resemblance to President Barack Obama. The big question on Twitter was if this was done intentionally.
Makeup artist for the Bible miniseries, Christa Schoeman has spoken out. Christa Schoeman did the makeup for actor Mehdi Ouzaani who was cast as Satan. Christa Schoeman said that President Barack Obama never even crossed her mind when she did the makeup for Mehdi Ouzaani. The character of Satan was not intended to resemble Obama.
The History Channel responded that the buzz on social media networks including Twitter was 'utter nonsense.' Executive producers of the Bible, Mark Burnett and Roma Downey responded Mehdi Ouzaani has previously played other satanic type roles long before Obama took office. Downey also went on to say that he 'loves and respects the President who is a fellow Christian.'
Christa Schoeman has done other work for the History Channel as well as other historical films. Her work includes 'The History of the World,' 'Gettysburg' as well as 'The Dinosaur Project.'
