The body of missing woman Sarai Sierra was located in Istanbul after the search for her has spanned over a week. This brings the end to the search, but it's an ending that nobody wanted, even if it was already slightly suspected. What's tragic about this is the presumed cause of death in the missing woman's case. On Saturday, Feb. 02, 2013, the Global Post revealed that the 33-year-old woman's body was riddled with stab wounds -- indicating the possibility that she had been stabbed to death.
Her body was located in the Sarayburnu district, near some stone walls -- and there are rumors of arrests being made. However it should be noted that only one news source has shared the unconfirmed rumor that nine people have been detained. This has not been confirmed in other sources, including the mainstream media. This may be misinformation, and misinformation in such a sensitive case could be dangerous.
It was speculated here and on my Gather News articles that Sarai Sierra might have been murdered, and her cellphone might be in the possession of her killer(s). Knowing that her body was found stabbed indicates truth in this speculation. It's possible that her phone was powered on twice by the person(s) who killed her, but why? Was it to toy with investigators or was it out of sheer stupidity?
As far as officials have confirmed, a man named 'Taylan' was taken into custody yesterday and was then released after questioning. No other people have been taken in, but it's been reported that there are at least four people of interest -- though they remain unnamed. 'Taylan' remains the last known person to have had contact with Sarai before she vanished and ultimately wound up dead.
