New York mother Sarai Sierra remains missing as her disappearance barrels beyond its one-week-mark. There are multiple updates in her case, but none of them appear to be leading in her direction -- which is where officials need to be most of all. What happened to this woman while she was abroad in Turkey? Is she alive somewhere, either voluntarily or against her will, or is the missing woman dead after meeting foul play or an accident?
With each detail released in this case, the number of theories increases. A report dated Feb. 01, 2013 reveals that the woman's phone has been powered on twice since she vanished. With it being just over a week since she disappeared that two times is enough to spark a world of interest. It's also of interest to point out that the man who is believed to be a suspect in her disappearance was arrested and then released after questioning. So what could that mean? It seems as though the man police questioned and released might not have anything to offer in this case -- which is somewhat disconcerting.
As theorized in this Gather News article from Feb. 01, 2013, it's likely that Sarai could be alive, but avoiding detection on purpose. Officials have even expressed hope that she is alive. However, there are always multiple theories on which to speculate and it's possible that Sierra could be the very opposite of safe. What if Sarai Sierra was murdered and the culprit is the one responsible for turning her phone on twice over the course of this past week ?
It's up to officials in Istanbul to get to the bottom of this mysterious case, and hopefully it ends on a positive note, but the details as they're known lend little in the positive speculation department.
