Jessica Pratt has reportedly been located safely as of Feb. 19, 2013 -- however, there are some strange elements remaining in this mysterious case. What's strange about the entire ordeal is the behavior of the once-missing woman's family, who maintained a Facebook page in search for her. They have deleted the page once, only to reopen it and claim vaguely that something had happened to Jessica. The family even insinuated that she owed people money and couldn't walk.
On the contrary, all of the news reports covering her case say that she voluntarily walked into a police department and notified them that she was fine. All reports indicate that she was safe and in good health. No reports are confirming or even making mention of any situation in which she owed money or was unable to walk. So who is telling the truth? Curiously, the family has removed that post and any other posts related to the search for Jessica Janai Pratt. KCCI News reports that she was healthy and uninjured when she walked into the police department in New Orleans. Police confirm that there was no foul play.
Now that it's known that she is safe and there is no evidence of foul play, the internet discussion about this case has gone into overdrive. While everyone is thankful that she was found safe and didn't suffer any demise, there is a lot of outrage being expressed over the lack of communication by her loved ones, especially since money was donated to them during the search for her. This Gather News article asks if the woman was ever really missing in the first place, and that's a valid question. As you can see by the screenshots in the slideshow, a lot of people were asking the same question. These screenshots were taken of the "Missing Help Find Jessica Pratt" Facebook page before her loved ones deleted all of the posts and locked the page down.
So where did the donation money go? Was she really missing? And who is telling the truth about the circumstances of locating her, the family or the media? This case appears to be one big can of worms and hopefully the once-missing woman can speak to the media and give some clarification on what happened when she was gone.
