The Golden State Warriors rounded up their first week of training camp on Friday and hopped a flight down to Ontario where they'll face the Los Angeles Lakers in the preseason opener.
“It will be refreshing to go against other individuals and another team,” said head coach Mark Jackson.
Earlier this week swingman Kent Bazemore suffered a bloody nose after running into a pick.
Jackson told the San Francisco Chronicle he's focused on keeping players healthy and plans to limit veterans Stephen Curry, Andrew Bogut, David Lee, Andre Iguodala and Jermaine O'Neal to about 24 minutes each in Saturday's exhibition, but did not name the starting lineup.
"This year, we know what it takes to win, so it's more about shaking off the rust, getting into game form and being healthy for the season," said second-year forward Draymond Green.
Expect to see quite a bit of the backups and camp invitees.
Fans will also get their first look at first-round pick guard Nemanja Nedovic and 2012 second-round center Ognjen Kuzmic in Warriors uniforms as both were held out of summer league action with sprained ankles.
Meanwhile the spotlight will be on brothers Steph and Seth Curry who could take the floor together at some point during the game.
Warriors-Lakers can be seen on NBA TV and heard on KNBR 680. Tip-off is at 7 p.m.
