Klay Thompson went off on Friday night in Shanghai, China during the NBA Global Games finale, scoring 25 points including 5-for-6 from downtown helping the Warriors rout the Lakers 115-89.
Thompson spoke about the win post-game:
It's always good to beat (the Lakers), I've seen them rule the state of California for far too long so we want Golden State to be the team out West and it starts even tonight in the pre-season."
David Lee finished with 16 points while Kent Bazemore and Draymond Green both added 14 points apiece off the bench. Bazemore and Green combined on 7-for-10 shooting from 3-point range.
Head coach Mark Jackson limited his starters after pushing them in Tuesday's 100-95 comeback victory over the Lakers in Beijing, yet Andre Iguodala still managed to total 14 assists, seven rebounds, five steals, and four points in just under 29 minutes.
Paul Gasol led the Lakers with 16 points.
Next up, the Warriors face the Kings on Oct. 23 in Sacramento.
NOTES: Andrew Bogut left the game with back spasms and did not return. ... Kobe Bryant (Achilles surgery) received a huge ovation when he joined the Laker bench in the fourth quarter. ... The game will be replayed on CSN tonight at 7:30 p.m.
