The Golden State Warriors officially announced their preseason schedule Wednesday and the first game will be against the Los Angeles Clippers on Oct. 7 at the Staples Center.

The Warriors have eight games to help them prepare for the regular season. After playing the Clippers, the club will stay in Southern California for a pair of games against the Los Angeles Lakers. The first will be played at Staples on Oct. 9 and the teams will meet again three days later at Citizens Business Bank Arena in Ontario.

The first home game for the Warriors will be on Oct. 16 against the Denver Nuggets. But the game will be played at the Wells Fargo Arena in Des Moines, Iowa. Current Warrior Harrison Barnes was born just 30 minutes away in Ames.

Golden State will leave immediately after the game and head to Kansas City, Missouri for a matchup the following night with the Miami Heat at the Sprint Center. The Warriors end the road portion of their preseason two days later with an exhibition against the Houston Rockets at the State Farm Arena in Hidalgo, Texas.

The Warriors play the first of their two preseason games at Oracle Arena on Oct. 21 against the Clippers. It will also be Andre Iguodala Bobblehead Night. The first 10,000 fans crossing the turnstiles will receive a bobblehead honoring Iguodala’s selection to the NBA All-Defensive First Team last season.

The eighth and final preseason game for Golden State will take place on Oct. 24 against the Nuggets. The first 10,000 fans in attendance will receive a Stephen Curry bobblehead honoring the All-Star’s selection to the All-NBA Second Team last season. The Warriors open the regular season five days later in Sacramento.
