Warren Sapp arrested, charged with domestic battery. He will not be part of the NFL Super Bowl coverage, as previously scheduled.
Warren Sapp is accused of choking his girlfriend of two years. Sapp and his girlfriend had been partying at The Shore Club, a hotel in Miami. The woman was tired and asked Sapp for the hotel key, so she could go back to the room. Sapp woke her up a few hours later and an argument began. The alleged domestic battery took place in Sapp's hotel room.
According to the police affidavit, Sapp tried to choke the woman and pushed her down on a couch. The argument continued and Sapp grabbed her by her shirt and neck and threw her down again.
According to the the police report, the victim had bruises on her neck and a swollen knee.

Warren Sapp is currently sitting in a Miami-Dade County jail waiting to appear before a judge today.
UPDATE Warren Sapp has just been released from jail on a $1,500 bond.
Sapp is not flashing his usual big smile in his mug shot (above).
Sapp had a busy Super Bowl Weekend planned. Besides covering the Super Bowl, he was due to host a party last night at the B.E.D. nightclub in Miami.
Some of Warren Sapp's fans are expressing their support for him on Twitter. People are tweeting @QBKILLA expressing their support despite the charges. A few fans are tweeting their disappointment calling him a woman beater, but they are in the minority.
A Dancing with the Stars connection?
The last few days have not been good for former NFL stars, who have also appeared on Dancing with the Stars, in Florida.
Warren Sapp (AKA Twinkle Toes) is not the only one having problems.
Former Dallas Cowboys star Michael Irvin has been accused of raping a woman. The alleged incident took place back in 2007.
The alleged victim has now filed a lawsuit against him in Broward County.
The woman's lawyer, David Lister, said his client had passed a polygraph test. Lister said that his client and Irvin's lawyer had been in settlement talks. When the talks failed to go any further, they chose to file the lawsuit, only three days before the Super Bowl is being played in Miami, Florida.
Irvin has countersued the woman for $100 million dollars.
Irvin's lawsuit claims that because of the civil suit filled by his accuser, he has now been fired from his ESPN radio job. In Irvin's lawsuit it states "This is nothing more than a thinly veiled effort to carry out Plaintiff's extortion plot while capitalizing on the media circus that is Super Bowl weekend,"
May we suggest that no more former NFL stars appear on "Dancing with the Stars". It seems to be bad luck.

I will always remember Sapp as the guy that pulled Jerry Rice down by the facemask on a reverse in Tampa and broke his consecutive games streak. He is a PIG! When and how he played and now that he thinks he is some star! I have heard him on The Dan Patrick show and he is a egotistical prick.

He has always been an ass and treated people like crap. I live in Tampa and have been around him on several occasions and I am sure he is guilty of what he did! Hopefully Karma will come back around to him now!!!
Sapp goes to show that you can still make millions and still be ghetto.
