Warner Bros. Pictures yesterday announced a new Peter Pan film which is set to hit theaters on July 17, 2015. The live action picture will be directed by Joe Wright(“Atonement”, the awesomely brilliant “Hanna”), and is written by Jason Fuchs(one of the writers of 2012’s “Ice Age: Continental Drift”). IMDB has the project titled as “Pan” currently.

President of Domestic Distribution Dan Fellman commented, “Peter Pan has delighted people of every generation for more than a century, so we are thrilled to bring him back to the screen next summer for today’s moviegoers.”

The studio also took the opportunity to announce that Zack Snyder’s next chapter in the Superman saga won’t come to fruition until 2016. The film, which will introduce Batman(Ben Affleck) and Wonder Woman( Gal Gadot) to the Superman world, will release on May 6. The untitled sequel to “Man of Steel” is written by David S. Goyer. Goyer partnered with Christopher Nolan on the “Batman Begins” screenplay, and also wrote Snyder’s first swing at the Krypton superhero(among other things). The screenwriter is also attached to the recently announced “Justice League” and “Metal Gear Solid.”

Henry Cavill will reprise his role as Superman and Clark Kent, and Amy Adams, Laurence Fishburne, and Diane Lane will also return for the sequel. Snyder(“Dawn of the Dead”, “300”) returns to direct the film.

Veronika Kwan Vandenberg, Warner Bros.’ President of International Distribution, said, “We know that there is great anticipation building for the next superhero film from Zack Snyder, and we are equally eager to see what he has in store for Superman and Batman as they share the big screen for the first time ever.”
