There has been a lot of talk on just what will come from "Batman V. Superman: Dawn of Justice," and everyone pretty much anticipates that it is building toward a "Justice League" film. Well, it seems as if DC Comics and Warner Bros. may be up to much more as BadAssDigest revealed on June 12, 2014, that the plans for the next few years may have been leaked.
Now, please know that this is not confirmed and should only be taken as a rumor at this time.
Should it all be true though, then there could be a lot of fun coming in the next few years. It appears as if Warner Bros. and DC Comics are looking to really stick it to Marvel at the San Diego Comic Con this year.
In order to battle the giant that is "The Avengers" franchise, DC could very well have a series of films leading up to the eventual "Justice League" in 2017. This supposed leak also shows that it is going to continue on past that film too.
The leak states that seven DC Comics movies will be released between 2016 and 2018, and they will be as follows:
- "Batman V Superman" - May 2016
- "Shazam" - July 2016
- "Sandman" - Christmas 2016
- "Justice League" - May 2017
- "Wonder Woman" - July 2017
- "Flash/Green Lantern" - Christmas 2017
- "Man of Steel 2" - May 2018
While this list is incredibly impressive enough on its own, it poses some very interesting thoughts. One of those being that "Batman V Superman" isn't actually the "Man of Steel" sequel and that a true sequel is still four years away.
The leak goes on to say that numerous actors will be signed for the respective "Justice League" roles and make cameos in other films leading up to the assembled pic. Actors would be signed to multi-picture deals and the team would be made up of:
- Wonder Woman
- Green Lantern
One big question is wondering if DC and Warner Bros. really want to release three huge films in 2017. Would they really release "Wonder Woman" a mere two months after "Justice League?"
Only time will tell if this leak is accurate, but it's going to be fun to see.
