Today Acting-Auditions.org is reporting that Alcon Entertainment and Bottlenose Productions are gearing up to begin production on the Warner Bros. Pictures feature film sequel "Dolphin Tale 2". The Primetime Emmy Award winning casting directors in Los Angeles and New York have been auditioning actors for starring and co-starring roles. Additional casting is take place in Florida, where shooting is scheduled to commence on October 20, 2013. The photo-doubles and stand-ins for the films principal actors, as well as general extras and featured background actors are now being cast in October and will continue throughout production.
"Dolphin Tale 2" will continue the adventures on Winter, a bottlenose dolphin that was rescued in December 2005 off the Florida coast and taken in by the Clearwater Marine Aquarium. Winter lost her tail after becoming entangled with a rope attached to a crab trap and was fitted with a prosthetic one. The film will tell the story of a new dolphin, a baby named Hope who was also saved and rehabilitated by the Clearwater Marine Aquarium in 2010. Two 80,000-foot stranding pools were constructed for the first film on the Clearwater Marine Aquarium property and, when filming wrapped, the Aquarium got to keep the pools and use them to rehab dolphins.
Returning to star in the sequel is five-time Young Artist Awards nominee Nathan Gamble, who played the role of Sawyer Nelson; Young Artist Awards nominee Cozi Zuehlsdorff as Hazel Haskett; two-time Primetime Emmy Award winner Harry Connick Jr. as Dr. Clay Haskett; two-time Golden Globe Award nominee Ashley Judd as Lorraine Nelson; Academy Award nominee Kris Kristofferson as Reed Haskett; Academy Award winner Morgan Freeman as Dr. Cameron McCarthy; and of course, Winter as herself.
