Warner Bros. Interactive and developer TT Games have announced that the Marvel Universe will soon be given the LEGO treatment for an upcoming video game due to be released in Fall 2013 for the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, Wii U, PC, PlayStation Vita, Nintendo DS and Nintendo 3DS. “LEGO Marvel Super Heroes” will soon join the ranks of LEGO’s additional big name licenses such as “Star Wars,” “Indiana Jones,” “Lord of the Rings” and the DC Universe. It’s interesting to see Warner Bros. Interactive, the parent company of DC Comics, take on such an endeavor with the characters of Marvel Universe, but that doesn’t make us any less excited to see it!
The press release details an original storyline in which Nick Fury recruits Iron Man, the Hulk, Thor, Spider-Man, Captain America, Black Widow, Wolverine and others as they join forces against a villainous plot. Players will be able to unlock well over 100 characters in the upcoming title, allowing them the chance to help protect the Earth against the likes of Galactus, Loki and more.
Game Informer has posted the following announcement video which presents us with our first look at some of the in-progress game footage.
