Warmest temperatures in 4 months followed by snow potential early next week

Good Morning everyone and Happy Friday!! Well it looks like we are headed to our first 60+ degree temperature in 4 months (since 69 deg Nov. 19) this afternoon. Strong southerly winds will help to boost temperatures into the lower 60s this afternoon. This warmth will be brief as colder air from Canada surges southward this weekend. This next cold period will be as a result of a re-amplifying (wavy) jet stream pattern that will result in a north-northwest flow pattern.

A couple of weather systems will ride along this northwest flow jet stream pattern over the next week. This will bring chances of snow to the region Saturday night-Sunday and Monday night-Tuesday. Minor accumulation is expected.

Even though Spring has officially started, winter is not over yet. The weather/climate system doesn't have an on/off switch.
