Warm winter hat pattern without the itch

See also

With a foot of snow and zero degrees the high forecast for this New Year 2014 weekend, there's nothing better than warm and cozy knitting. If you enjoy knitting warm winter hats with alpaca or merino wool yarn, but you get complaints about the itchiness, here's the perfect lined hat pattern without the itch. It's a stocking hat pattern lined with an easy bit of cotton yarn. Call it a beanie or classic toque, it's very warm and totally itch-less for the whole family.

The 'Toque Times Two" is written in two sizes for children and adults, the lined hat pattern uses only about 80 yards of the main color, and yarn stash easily fills the bill for the jaunty braid and tassel trims. Designed to lay flat under a helmet, the tassel-trimmed classic toque stocking hat is suited for any winter sport activity. The small size fits 3 to 4 year olds. And the large size unstreched measures 19 inches, stretching to 21 or so inches. The twins heads in the photos measure 20" and the hats fit well. Purchase the pattern on Ravelry or Etsy. It's an instant download, 3-page pdf with lots of photos.

Wishing you a healthy and happy New Year and happy knitting!
