It has been nice basking in the sunshine for the past few days! Not only that, the temperature has been quite mild. We have seen highs pushing up into the lower 70s which is above normal at this point in the year.
This is all going to change as our weather pattern shifts into more of a typical late October feel. If you are a gardener, you will want to be keeping a close eye on the forecast by this upcoming weekend. Frost *might* even become a possibility by the beginning of next week!
For Tuesday, clouds will be on the increase. Even Tuesday morning, you will not wake up to nearly as much sunshine as you did on Monday. Consequently, morning lows will be a little bit warmer in the lower 50s. Even with skies remaining partly to mostly cloudy all day, a southerly wind will help get the temperature up just above 70 degrees once again on Tuesday. A few pop up showers will be possible as well. A much better chance for rain will enter the picture on Tuesday night when a cold front moves in from the west. Rain chances will increase after 8 p.m. and really ramp up overnight.
Expect periods of rain to linger through early Wednesday afternoon. The showers will begin to break up and push east after that. Highs on Wednesday will be close 70 degrees but the temperature may drop back down into the 60s by late afternoon behind the cold front.
A cooler air mass will filter into the region for the end of the week. Highs will struggle to make it out of the upper 50s both Thursday and Friday! Another disturbance in the upper levels of the atmosphere will slide through Ohio on Thursday. This will bring more clouds and another chance for a few showers.
Looking ahead to the weekend, you will want your sweatshirts and jackets! The Buckeyes are hosting Iowa at 3:30 p.m. Right now the forecast calls for mainly dry weather but quite chilly! Temperatures will quickly fall into the 40s Saturday evening.
